I believe in reincarnation. Why? Because there are too many people who remember living before, especially children (without the aid of hypnosis even).

Also, I think it helps explain geniuses as well as people who feel they are the opposite sex trapped in their current body. I also think it explains when you get that feeling of dejavu. Most of all I feel it is right, in my heart, in my soul.

So, to me, reincarnation is real. We live time and again, only to rejoin our creator in the end. Smile

Hey Silthy
Have you read "Journey of Souls" by Michael Newton?

Here's a paragraph for you from his book.

"If death were the end of everything about us, then life indeed would be meaningless. However, some power within us enables human to conceive of a hereafter and to sense a connection to a higher power and even an eternal soul. If we do actually have a soul, then where does it go after death? Is there really some sort of heaven full of intelligent spirits outside our physical universe? What does it look like? What do we do when we get there? Is there a supreme being in charge of this paradise? These questions are as old as humankind itself and still remain a mystery to must of us"

Included in the book are case studies.

Creators Blessings
Mel

Hi Sithy,

thats a realy good way of putting it, as for the sex of a person being trapped in the opposite sex body, well, thats just a different spin on this, thanks for that, got me thinking now.

He certainly has a way of making someone think about this subject, doesn't he? That's a good thing, of course!

PostSubject: This is a bit sensitive   Wed Nov 11, 2009 9:42 pm

This is an clip from my BoS in the early days regarding thoughts on Reincarnation. Its a different spin again but is it possible ;

A theory I was running with on re-incarnation consisted of;
Anybody who died but only for a minute or so report they have saw the light. A bright light up ahead as they are drawn towards it. Is it possible that as one body dies the soul\spirit is transferred into a baby’s body in the womb minutes before birth? As a baby travels down the birth canal to be born the only thing it can recognise\see is the bright light of the new world it is about to enter at the end of its journey.
For every single human being on this planet from day one to present all to be different from each other seems to be an eternally high number. Also at the point of being brought back to life a person will report of a pulling away from the bright light to the point of fade out. Does this mean the soul\spirit is settling into the newborns body ready for life again but is hastily recalled due to mans intervention, i. e. bringing someone back to life in a hospital with electroshock paddles. Would this explain why there are stillborn babies. A body cant exist without a soul. Can it?
These are theological and metaphysical thoughts that transpired on my path to spirituality.

I herard once that in some Hospitals thay have a marker or symbol on the top of somewhere high in operating theatres, because so many people were reporting OBE's, they dcided to do this and apparently they got some supprising results from people who died on the table but then came abck to life.

Well, thats what i heard anyway.

PostSubject: Op Theatre OBEs   Thu Nov 12, 2009 8:13 pm

Hi Lee,

I vaguely remember something being mentioned about some sort of experiment due to the amount of OBEs there has been in the operating theatres but I never knew what it was. Thats quite interesting, whats even more interesting would be to see the true results.

Thanks for sharing

Dr. Sam Parnia – University of Southampton study
In the fall of 2008, 25 UK and US hospitals began participation in a 3 year study, co-ordinated by Dr. Sam Parnia and Southampton University. Following on the work of Van Lommel in the Netherlands, the study aims to examine near-death experiences in 1,500 cardiac arrest survivors and so determine whether people without a heartbeat or brain activity can have documentable out-of-body experiences.[58]

Near-death experience project is published
Jun 20 2008 by Steffan Rhys, Western Mail

LIGHTS at the end of a tunnel, spirits floating above their bodies on the hospital operating table, and lives flashing before your eyes.

They have all been the most commonly described near-death experiences for as long as the often-doubted phenomenon has existed.

But a five-year research project by a Welsh nurse suggests these stories are so common because they actually happen.

Intensive therapy nurse Penny Sartori worked closely with critically-ill patients at Morriston and Singleton Hospitals in Swansea. The setting, experts say, provided well-documented information on near-death experiences (NDEs) which does not fit easily within the parameters of the normal systems of explanation.

One patient reported encountering a dead relative who gave a message to pass on to another member of the family who was still alive, information which stunned the receiver because it had been a secret and was impossible the patient had prior knowledge of it.

In another, a patient who suffered from cerebral palsy awoke from an NDE able to use his right arm normally, even though it had been bent and contracted since birth.

Others reported floating back into their bodies after nearly dying, and others said they had met a figure who had told them their time had not yet come.

In one experiment, Dr Sartori placed playing cards on the top of emergency room cabinets, then asked patients reporting “floating” experiences if they had seen the cards. None had.
Dr Sartori, who has been awarded a PhD for what is the largest study of its kind in the UK, researched 300 intensive care patients and gathered 15 full accounts of NDEs over five years, mainly from heart attack patients.

She spent three years writing up her study and a further two preparing it for publication in her book, Near-Death Experiences of Hospitalized Intensive Care Patients: A Five Year Clinical Study, which has just been published.

“All the current sceptical arguments against near-death experiences were not supported by the research,” she said, referring to NDEs often being explained away as the effect of endorphins, abnormal blood gases or low oxygen levels, all of which were measured and taken into account during her research.

“I don’t think it’s quite as simple as life after death. It’s what consciousness is and how we define it. We are entering an exciting time researching consciousness.

“Current science says it is a by-product of the brain. But it may be that consciousness is around us and the brain might be a mediator, an antenna, instead of controlling consciousness.

“It is a fascinating subject and I’m looking forward to continuing my research.”

Professor Paul Badham, director of the Alister Hardy Religious Experience Research Centre at Lampeter University, said the phenomenon was relatively rare but the experiences tended to contain similar elements.

“It is very common for people to report going out of their body and looking down on their body,” he said.

“Going through a tunnel is also a common experience, as is being surrounded by light. The meeting of deceased relatives or friends is also commonly reported.

“People will also say that they feel they are in the presence of a spiritual reality. A Christian may interpret this as Jesus. One atheist who had an out-of-body experience said that he later realised that this presence was responsible for the governance of the universe.”

Professor Badham said the numbers of people experiencing the phenomena are rising, as medicine improves and pulls more people back from the brink.

And he confirmed that people who report a near-death experience sometimes “see” things that it would have been impossible for them to see if they had been unconscious on an operating table.

The Near-Death Experiences of Hospitalized Intensive Care Patients: A Five Year Clinical Study is published by Mellen Press, priced £85

Some of the most famous out of body experiences

Peter Sellers

The comic genius star of Dr Strangelove and The Pink Panther reportedly had an out of body experience after suffering a series of heart attacks. He is quoted as saying he felt himself leave his body and watching paramedics cart him away.

Elizabeth Taylor

While having surgery, the actress and one time wife of Richard Burton said she saw a bright light and was met by the spirit of one of her other former husbands, Michael Todd, who had died before her. She is reported to have said: “he pushed me back to my life.”

Sharon Stone

The Basic Instinct actress revealed she had a “white light experience” in 2002 after a brain scare a year earlier. She said she had seen masses of bright white light and had started to be greeted by some of her friends before she was suddenly revived.

William Petersen

The star of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation told Playboy magazine in 2004 he had an out of body experience after losing a lot of blood during an accident on stage. He said he had been in a tunnel with lots of bright light before a male voice told him: “It’s not your time.”

And in the movies . . .

A Christmas Carol

Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by three spirits who each take him on a journey and show him his life from three different scenarios.

It’s A Wonderful Life, above

On Christmas Eve, just as he is about to end his own life, George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart) is visited by a guardian angel who shows him what life would have been like had he never been born.

Oh im on form today? lol!

Hope this helps.

PostSubject: Brilliant Research Work Buffy   Mon Nov 16, 2009 12:50 am

Wow Buffy! Top form! You dont get any better than this. Where you quoted
' near-death experiences in 1,500 cardiac arrest survivors and so determine whether people without a heartbeat or brain activity can have documentable out-of-body experiences' I actually found that very thought provoking as about eight montha ago, during my sleep I opened my eyes to find although still lying horizontal my face was about two or three inches from the ceiling. I remember recognizing the ceiling as my own bedroom ceiling. Although I was supposedly still asleep I remember going through a consciouss thought process of thinking, ' if this is an OBE then to prove it if I turn round and look down and see myself lying on the bed then I would have taken that as a confirmation. I tried but it was as if I were paralysed for all I tried to will my body to turn round I couldnt. Then I remember getting a bit claustophobic because my face was so near the ceiling, I could feel my own breath bouncing back off it. Next thing I knew it was morning time and I was getting up for work. Very wierd experience. But the quote you have here makes me wonder, was I for some reason approaching death in my sleep. Guess I'll never know until the crossover.

Oh, Journey of Souls is one of my favorite books. It was paradigm changing for me. A whole bunch of things made sense after reading that book that didn't seem to fit together before. I highly recommend it.
